Are you considering breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. The procedure is performed to achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape, to restore breast volume and to improve the shape of breasts that are sagging.

The first consultation
Be sure to discuss your expectations frankly with your surgeon. He should be equally frank with you, describing your alternatives and the risks and limitations of each. Afterwards he will plan the surgery, choose the most suitable implant and the operation technique.
In practice implants - filled with cohesive gels containing silicon - are used. The implant shell may be smooth or textured and may have a round profile or one that is anatomic (teardrop shape). Which implant will be chosen depends on your expectations and body-build, so it is crucial for you to be honest with your surgeon. At the consultation your surgeon tells you where the incisions will be since breast augmentation is performed in three different techniques : the incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest (this is the most common), around the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), or in the armpit. The surgeon chooses the technique depending on your anatomy and more importantly on whether placing the implant behind the breast tissue (submammary or subglandular placement) or beneath the pectoral muscle. A more natural look can be reached with implant behind the gland. If the gland is not large enough, the implant is put beneath the muscle for the natural look, but if you are an active sportsman, the implant may move from its original place.
After choosing the right implant and technique, your surgeon tells You the limitation of the operation as well as the list of things to do after surgery.

Preparing for the surgery
Before performing the operation your surgeon requires a mammografia or X-Ray. Your surgeon or your advisorof EuHealthTourism will tell you what examinations you need personally. Prior to a breast lift usually mammografia ,blood test and ultrasound breast exams are recommended.
The surgery is always perfomed in a well equipped operating room where you can be treated in case of unlikely complications also. Breast augmentations are performed under general anesthesia and takes from one to one and a half hours. After surgery, you will wear an elastic bandage which will be changed to a special, very tight sports bra after a few days. You need to wear this bra for six weeks.
After the surgery you are required to spend a night in the hospital (Your surgeon may lengthen your stay if needed). You will have your own, comfortable room with air conditioning and a private bathroom.

After surgery
Your surgeon will schedule the follow-up consultations. The stitches are removed after ten to fourteen days. You will be wearing the special bra for four weeks, the permanent look of your breast will be apparent in three to four weeks. You need to stay away from heavy physical work in the first month.
