and satisfaction
Are you considering facelift?
Facelift is an ideal solution for those whose skin has begun to sag and wrinkle filling or Botox does not help to make the face firm and wrinkleless. A facelift is performed on patients mostly over the age of 40.
The first consultation
At the first consultation you will discuss your goals and expectations with your surgeon. After this discussion the surgeon describes the most suitable procedure for you (which could be a total or partial facelift, done in conjunction with eyelid surgery, liposuction on the neck or using wrinkle filling to fill out deeper wrinkles). Then your surgeon describes the technique, the risks and limitations of the procedure, where the position of scars will be.
Preparing for surgery
Before the surgery you will be instructed to have different screening examinations. Your surgeon and personal adviser will let you know what examinations you will need.
The surgery
The surgery is always done in a well equipped operating room where you can be treated in the unlikely case of complications. Facelifts are performed under general anaesthesia and take from two to two and a half hours.
After the surgery you will wear an elastic mask around your head for some weeks. You will be required to spend a night in the hospital (Your surgeon may lengthen your stay if needed). You will have your own, comfortable room with air conditioning and a bathroom.
After surgery
Your face will probably get swollen, have bruising and some spotting. These symptoms disappear between ten to fourteen days, after the stitches are removed. You are advised to wear the elastic mask at night, and you can return to work after the stitch removal.
